They are best known for their 1971 album Lost in the Ozone, and their single Hot Rod Lincoln. A history of the early days of this band in Berkeley can be seen at  http://berkeleyfolk.blogspot.com/2010/09/commander-cody-and-his-lost-planet.html. The Crabs were a Berkeley band, well respected at the time, but little known today. The New Monk hosted bands and offered pizza and beer. It was located at 2119 University Avenue in Berkeley--where Shattuck Avenue meets University. in 1972 it was purchased by the owner of the Keystone SF and became Keystone Berkeley . (See Jerry's Brokendown Palaces). The flyer does not identify the year and this show is not recorded on the Internet. However November 6 is  a Friday only in 1970 for the years these bands were operating.
