Willkie, Wendell [1892 - 1944].  Two pieces of advertising promoting Wendell Willkie as the Republican Party candidate for President of the United States.  [1940].


Two four-page advertising leaflets. What Every "Buddy" Should Know about Wendell Willkie was issued by the Republican War Veterans, Willkie War Veterans National Committee, Chicago, Ill. It promotes his military service and offers the tagline Every Buddy - For Willkie. (4" x 9"). The other leaflet, Wendell Willkie, World War Veteran, was issued by the Republican National Committee. (5-1/2" x 8-1/2"). Each is printed using blue text with red as a spot color.  Very Good condition.


Willkie was the 1940 Republican candidate for President and was defeated by FDR in the general election for his third term in office. He did not run during the primaries but won candidacy on the sixth ballot at the Republican Convention.
